Cherie Blackwell, photo-polymer relief printing plates (2010) in various sizes ready for printing to fabric. Photo-polymer plates are either purchased commercially (e.g. Solar Plate) or prepared by adhering a light-sensitive photo-polymer emulsion to a 1/4" thick piece of plexiglass. Plates are exposed from large-scale film positives. Because the plates can either be hand-printed or run through a printing press, they cross-platform easily. It is also possible to obtain great nuance in line and form than is usually only possible with hand-carved print blocks. Photo by Cherie Blackwell
