Flor-Essence is a Joomchi (felted paper) wall hanging. The body of the piece was created by felting multiple layers of mulberry paper together. Seventeen sculpted Joomchi "flowers" were then added by tying them to the body with hemp yarn.

Cross-Roads, 2020
Mulberry paper, linen string 22"w x 33"h x .5"d
Cross-Roads is a Joomchi (felted paper) wall hanging. Multiple layers of mulberry paper were felted together to create the body of the piece. Then strips of Joomchi were woven together and tied to the body with linen yarn.

Concatenation, 2020
Merino Wool, wool yarn, mohair locks, hemp, silk, burlap, cotton fabric, beads, thread 25"w x 50.5"h
Concatenation is a highly texturized, wet-felted wool wall hanging. It is adorned with beads, stitching, holes, and various yarns and fabrics. Concatenation is best hung a few inches away from the wall to add drape and shadows to the overall piece.

Quilted, 2020
Mulberry paper, silk yarn 32.5" x 32.5"
Quilted is a 2D Joomchi (paper felted) wall hanging, made by creating multiple sheets of Joomchi paper, cutting them into squares, and machine stitching them into a "quilt". The borders and the backing of Quilted are also Joomchi.

2D Joomchi (paper felting) wall piece with 4 quadrants of paper in relief. Knots were used to attach the quadrants and to embellish the piece.

Mulberry paper, paper yarn 28"w x 41"h
2D Joomchi (paper felting) piece with holes, "bubbles", metallic flecks, and knots evoking a celebration. Shadows are cast when "Cheers!" is mounted a few inches away from the wall.

Skeleton Crew, 2021
Mulberry paper, paper yarn, linen, photo transfers 10"w x 35"h x 10"d
Multiple layers of mulberry paper (one with photo transfers) were wet-felted together (Joomchi), cut into strips, woven, tied, and shaped into two boats. The boats were tied together end-to-end at an angle. When hung from the ceiling "Skeleton Crew" will turn in the air and cast shadows on the wall to add dimension to the piece.

"Mulberry Boat" - Layers of mulberry paper were cut into strips, felted together (Joomchi), woven, and knotted with paper yarn to form a boat.
