“Joined” by Katherine Diuguid, 2021
Eco-printed silk and digitally printed linen with silk, metallic and metal embroidery threads. 21"x 23"
Joined are the digital prints of the artist's gaze to the botanical mark of the Appalachian Ragwort. United is the silk to the linen by metallic quilting floating across the surface. Intertwined is the metal to the fiber as fragile insertion stitches bind all together. Connections can be magical.
