Ceaseless Wave 1, 2021
Moving blankets, synthetic polymer paint, wax thread 152in x 112in
Moving blankets, when deconstructed, serve as anti-quilts offering little protection or warmth. The meticulous ripping and tearing process exposes “the meat,” a toxic blend of recycled chemical and natural fibers. Although recycled, their life cycle is a momentary blip in a circular economy that is dependent on invisible labor.

Rag and Bone, 2021
Umbrellas, moving blankets, synthetic polymer paint, zip ties 72in diameter
A surreal motif, black umbrellas in combination with deconstructed moving blankets are fraught with implications of a global pandemic in textile waste. Rag and Bone represents the interconnectedness in which the trash of one country is reconstituted, repurposed and sold right back.

Recreation, 2021
Moving blankets, beach lounge chairs, zip ties 72in x 88in x 18in
Beach lounge chairs act as vehicles for transformation and change, allowing ourselves to hover inches above the earth in our most vulnerable state. As we lie prone, nude and surrounded by all the elements—sun, sand, surf and sea breeze—they offer an experience of reflection and renewal where recreation can inspire re-creation.

Variant 1, 2021
Aluminum foil, synthetic polymer paint, screws, graphite, sodium silicate 32in x 24in x 22in
In a meditative repetitive act, aluminum foil is twisted into small packets that retain the immediacy of the hand. The pieces fit together seamlessly forming masses that take on many different forms and associations.

Quilt 1, 2020
Polypropylene woven mesh, spray paint, wax thread, staples 48in x 48in
Privacy screens covered in graffiti are appropriated from construction sites. In a new form of expression freed from the formal concerns of color theory and composition, the quilt pulses with the voice of the street.
