Image Statement: The size and shape of this star are approximately those of the badges Jews had to sew onto their clothes under Nazi rule. But it is made of images of people, not of plain yellow cloth. A black marker was used to wipe out areas of carefully worked embroidery. The black lines fell arbitrarily on the small figures, obliterating some, cutting through others, miraculously sparing a few.
