Image Statement: Materials taken out of their context of origin have tremendous potential for expression. These explorations were conducted with reclaimed domestic sewing patterns and manufactured construction materials (flagging tape) handwoven on a cotton warp. When illuminated, there is even greater depth and beauty in their innate materiality. This image is part of a series of works and material study conducted early in the pandemic.
