Welcome to the new SDA Website!

Hello and welcome to the new SDA site!

We here at Surface Design Association are so very proud to present our new and improved website! With the new website comes some great changes. The site is now much easier to navigate, membership renewal is faster, and our member database has been upgraded. Plus it’s just so dang pretty! Along with the new website, our SDA Blog has undergone some changes. Our new segments will feature promotion of SDA members and events, a weekly roundup of textile news and links, deep delves into journal articles and themes, spotlights on regional activities, and many other special posts. So we give you all a big thank you for sticking with us and being so patient through these changes!

Are you interested in giving SDA members a behind-the-scenes view into your studio practice by showing us what you’re working on? The SDA Blog is excited to announce a recurring “SDA In the Studio” feature to promote current SDA members and showcase their studio practices. Fill out this brief form and you could be featured in our new “SDA In the Studio” segment! Form is here: “In the Studio” Blog Submission Form

Do you have an exhibition, book, or movie to review? An upcoming lecture, class, or workshop to promote? Or a tutorial on a process or technique you love and want to share with us? Check out this brief form, fill it out, and your post could be featured! I know you’re all up to such interesting things, and I want to make sure everyone knows how awesome you are. We are also very excited to announce Crafting Community: SDA Inaugural Exhibition in Print to appear in the Winter Issue of SDA Journal. Jurors will be Mark Newport (Head of Fibers Department at Cranbrook) and Marci Rae McDade (Surface Design Journal Editor). Submissions are open now and the call will close on Thursday, September 15th, so don’t miss out! Call for entry can be found HERE.
